Betsy Faria's daughters have lost an appeal in a life insurance case involving their late mother.

Pamela Hupp was named the beneficiary of Faria's $150,000 life insurance policy just days before she was found stabbed to death.

Faria's daughters sued, saying Hupp promised to give them the money.

A St. Charles County jury ruled in favor of Hupp. The daughters appealed, but Tuesday an appellate court upheld the original ruling.

Hupp is in the St. Charles County jail on first-degree murder charges. She's accused of killing Louis Gumpenberger to divert attention away from the Besty Faria murder investigation.
