Airline adds nonstop destination from St. Louis-area airport

The route will begin June 13 and will operate twice weekly on Thursday and Sunday.

ST. LOUIS — Allegiant Air is adding nonstop, round-trip service this summer to Tennessee from MidAmerica St. Louis Airport in Mascoutah.

The Las Vegas-based airline (Nasdaq: ALGT) is adding round-trip flights from MidAmerica to McGhee Tyson Airport in Alcoa, Tennessee, in suburban Knoxville. The new flights will be the only nonstop service between the cities, officials said in a Monday press release.

The route will begin June 13 and will operate twice weekly on Thursday and Sunday.

Allegiant Air is the only major airline serving MidAmerica airport. The new services adds a location to the 11 destinations it currently serves from the airport, which about 163,000 departing passengers in 2022.
