New airline joins Lambert lineup with New England destination

The new offering marks the first time Avelo will serve Lambert.

ST. LOUIS — Avelo Airlines on Wednesday said it will add nonstop flights from St. Louis Lambert International Airport to New Haven, Connecticut.

Starting June 13, the Houston-based airline will fly from STL to Tweed-New Haven Airport twice a week, with an introductory one-way fare of $79. It also named two other markets — Houston and Traverse City, Michigan — to which it will fly from Connecticut.

The new offering marks the first time Avelo will serve Lambert. The low-cost airline previously operated charter flights before transitioning to scheduled operations and rebranding as Avelo in April 2021.

“Avelo starting service to New Haven is simply one more step forward in giving our travelers as many nonstop destinations as possible,” Airport Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge said in a statement. “St. Louis Lambert International Airport is always seeking to expand the offerings available to travelers in our region.”
