Closed St. Louis County movie theater doesn't sell at auction

It was unclear what the next steps would be for the property.

ST. LOUIS — A closed movie theater in Fenton didn’t sell at auction earlier this month after bidders failed to meet the property owner's undisclosed reserve price.

The former Regal Gravois Bluffs Stadium 12 Cinema in Fenton, at 754 Gravois Bluffs Blvd., which closed in September 2022, went up for auction Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 on the TenX auction website with a starting bid of $1.25 million.

The broker for the sale, Elizabeth Schenk of Pace Properties, referred questions to the owner, Boston-based RMR Group, which did not respond to questions about the auction.

It was unclear what the next steps would be for the property. After RMR purchased the site, Pace Properties was developing a plan to lease the property when the owner decided to sell at auction, in large part due to the certainty of sale that an auction guarantees, Schenk said ahead of the auction.
