Rendering of the design of a Starbucks coffee shop that could return to a prominent corner in Clayton was included in plans submitted to the city.

CLAYTON, Mo. — A developer has officially submitted plans to reopen a prominent closed location of a national coffee chain in Clayton.

The former Starbucks at 7645 Wydown Blvd. a Hanley Road, a corporate-owned store that closed in 2021, would soon reopen as a franchised Starbucks in a plan that city officials are now weighing, city documents show.

The coffee shop, which would require a conditional use permit, was recommended last week for approval by the Clayton Plan Commission and Architectural Review Board and will be considered by the Board of Aldermen at a meeting Tuesday.

The owner of the 2,296-square-foot store would be an entity called BCG-BBJ-Denny’s-Starbucks, affiliated with T&S Food Services LLC and represented by Mark Sullivan, Clayton city records show.

Operating hours would run from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sullivan said in city filings.
