This parking garage is in line for millions of dollars in repairs.

ST. LOUIS — A crumbling downtown parking garage owned by a city board and partially leased by one of St. Louis’ largest companies could receive nearly $2 million in structural repairs.

Waterproofing company Western Specialty Contractors could be hired to shore up the 1,500-space parking garage at 400 N. Sixth St., near The Dome and America’s Center convention complex, at a special meeting Thursday of the city’s urban renewal board, the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority.

The board will consider a $1.85 million contract with Western, which was identified as the lowest responsive bidder for the work by a selection committee, city documents show. The board will consider the contract and a 10% contingency fee, bringing the total possible approved amount to $2.03 million, according to the documents.
