CLAYTON, Mo. — Graybar, one of the region's largest private companies, has reached a tentative contract deal with employees in St. Louis who are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 688.

The union members had been on strike since Feb. 26.

The tentative contract calls for workers to receive an 18% increase in hourly wages over the four-year agreement, as well as a $1,500 bonus on ratification. Neither the company nor a union representative responded to a previous request for information on how many workers were on strike, but the Teamsters said in a February release that 42 workers were on the picket line.

Graybar, a Fortune 500 company, is a Clayton-based distributor of electrical, communications and data networking products. Led by Chairman, President and CEO Kathleen Mazzarella, the company serves about 146,000 customers primarily in the construction, commercial, institutional and government, and industrial and utility markets.
