ST. LOUIS — A new amusement ride could open at Union Station next year.

Developers behind the tourist attractions at the site behind the Union Station hotel, 1820 Market St., are seeking permission from the St. Louis Preservation Board, which meets Monday, to add the new ride.

The specific details and design of the new ride, which could be constructed in 2025, are still in concept form, said a spokeswoman for Union Station owner Lodging Hospitality Management, a St. Louis-based hotel and hospitality firm.

Although plans could change, the latest ride at Union Station will likely be a “Wave Swing,” which would include swing chairs suspended from a rotating carousel, the spokeswoman said.

The potential construction requires city permission from the historic preservation board since it’s in a historic district, the Union Station Landmark District, city documents show.
