Cedric the Entertainer was in town Friday to unveil a new sign in honor of his mother who passed away last year.
The Berkeley native unveiled the sign for the Rosetta Boyce Kyle's Women's Pavilion at SSM St. Mary's Hospital.
Cedric and his sister have been raising funds through their annual gala called "An Evening with Cedric the Entertainer and Friends."
This year's event will be held Saturday night at the Peabody Opera House.
