ST. LOUIS COUNTY -- The father of a toddler who fatally shot himself in the stomach last year has pleaded guilty to charges related to the case.
Twenty-one-month-old Carter Epps died in August after he shot himself while playing with a loaded handgun.
His father, 26-year-old Corey Epps, was accused of leaving the gun in an area where Carter often played, then discharging the weapon and removing the shell casing from the scene before police arrived.
Friday, Corey Epps pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child and tampering with physical evidence.
