BLOOMSDALE, Mo. — A Festus woman was killed in a single-car accident in St. Genevieve County along Interstate 55 Wednesday evening.
Around 7 p.m., Bethany Day, 21, was riding in the passenger seat of a 1998 Ford F-150 on southbound I-55 near Bloomsdale. The driver of the truck traveled off the left side of the highway, which caused the truck to overcorrect, strike a rock bluff and overturn. Day was pronounced dead on the scene.
Neither Day nor the driver was wearing their seatbelts. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital.
