'I just broke down' | Woman asking for help finding dog stolen during carjacking

She rescued 7-year-old Harley almost two years ago and they've been attached ever since. Now, she's hoping someone has answers that can help bring Harley home.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – A north county woman is asking for help finding her dog, but it’s not a typical lost dog story. Her pet was taken in a carjacking.

Lisa McCloud said her father was watching her dog while she was on vacation and someone carjacked him while the dog was inside the car.

It happened in the 4500 block of Penrose in St. Louis while he was standing just a few feet away. McCloud said it happened so fast, once her father got out of his car another car drove up and someone inside committed the crime.

“Since it was so hot he left the car running for Harley so he could get air because he was just feet away. That’s when a guy got out of the passenger side of a car and then got into my dad’s car and sped off,” McCloud said.

And being hundreds of miles away, McCloud said she felt defenseless.

“I just broke down and cried because I was miles away I was in Memphis Tennessee and it was nothing that I could do,” McCloud said.

She rescued 7-year-old Harley almost two years ago and they've been attached ever since. Now, she's hoping someone has answers that can help bring Harley home.

“Criminals when they’re going to do something they’re going to do it, it was just an opportunity. I do hope that he is safe and not harmed, and all I want is just whoever has my dog just to return him,” McCloud said.

McCloud’s father’s car was recovered at the Murphy Blair Apartments thanks to OnStar tracking it down but Harley was not inside.

The thieves also stole tools from the trunk of the car but thankfully no one was harmed.

There is a $200 reward for anyone with information concerning Harley. If you have information please contact Lisa McCloud at lisadmccloud@gmail.com
