ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. – A man is facing multiple charges after leading police on a chase that ended him crashing into a levee.
Frankie W. Hook, 37, was charged with multiple counts including eluding police and driving on a revoked license, Monday.
Police first spotted Hook swerving his car on Illinois Route 163. Police tried to pull him over, but Hook refused and sped away. Hook continued to drive on the wrong side of the road until he drove off Mullins Road, through a field toward the levee. He drove over the levee and on to Route 3 in Cahokia, where Cahokia and Dupo officers joined in the chase.
Eventually, he lost control of the car and went into a ditch at the Route 3 and I-255 split. There were no injuries.
Hook — of Cahokia, Illinois — was charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing police, one count of driving on a revoked license and one count of resisting arrest.
His bond was set at $75,000.
