HAZELWOOD, Mo. – A 21-year-old man was charged Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old woman in Hazelwood Monday afternoon.
The Hazelwood Police Department said Jordan Beck was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and armed criminal action by St. Louis County prosecutors.
Police responded to the 1400 block of Annilo around 1 p.m. Monday where 18-year-old Celia Korzu Kollie was found with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Tuesday, police said Beck knew Kollie and forced his way into her home Monday afternoon. They said he then shot her multiple times before running away.
Police tracked him down on the 2200 block of Riverwood Place Drive and arrested without further incident.
He is being held at the St. Louis County Justice Center on a $200,000 bond.
A GoFundMe page has been started to help Kollie's family with funeral costs.
