Man killed in 3-vehicle crash in north St. Louis County

The driver was taken to an area hospital but died from his injuries.

ST. LOUIS — A man was killed Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in north St. Louis County.

The St. Louis County Police Department said North County Precinct officers responded shortly after 1 p.m. to the crash on Chambers Road near Imperial Drive. They arrived and found that three vehicles were involved in a crash.

According to a preliminary investigation, a Pontiac Grand Prix drove westbound on Chambers Road and tried to pass in between two other vehicles, a Jeep Cherokee and a Hyundai, headed in the same direction. The Pontiac sideswiped one of the vehicles, lost control, overturned and hit a tree.

The driver of the Pontiac was taken to an area hospital but died from his injuries. Police did not his name as of Friday afternoon.

Police said there were no other injuries.

The police departments Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction Unit are investigating the crash.
