March for Our Lives holds town hall in Kirkwood

The March for Our Lives St. Louis chapter was founded by four high school students.

KIRKWOOD, Mo. – The St. Louis chapter of “March for Our Lives” hosted a town hall about gun control Saturday night.

More than 100 people packed the Kirkwood Baptist Church to participate.

March for Our Lives is a nationwide movement that was formed in response to the Parkland Florida high school shooting that left 17 people dead.

In March, groups held marches in major cities across the country to call attention to gun control.

The March for Our Lives St. Louis chapter was founded by four high school students.

One of them is Lauren Malloy. She’s not even old enough to vote but said the events in Florida inspired her to take action.

“We are the generation that has grown up with this,” she said.

She said the group invited several local and federal lawmakers.

Republican Sen. Roy Blunt and Republican Congresswoman Ann Wagner did not come to the event.
