A police officer and four other people are recovering from injuries after a police chase ended in a crash involving six vehicles in suburban St. Louis.
Police say the chain of events began about 1 a.m. Friday when an officer was directing traffic outside the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights following a "Super Jam" concert. A car struck the officer and fled the scene, leading to a police pursuit. The officer did not require medical attention.
Police say the suspect's car struck a police SUV and five other vehicles in bumper-to-bumper traffic after the concert. The suspect was taken into custody.
The officer in the SUV was taken to a hospital with a neck injury, and four others were hospitalized. None of the injuries are life-threatening.
