SUNSET HILLS, Mo. — There is still time to make a difference in a child’s life, this holiday season!

Saturday at Circle of Knowledge, an educational toy store in south St. Louis County, people can show up, pick a toy off the shelf, pay for it, and have it shipped to a St. Louis area child in foster care.

Julia is an employee at the store.

“Circle of Knowledge is an amazing educational toy store,” said Julia. “It actually started in 1993 with a cart in a mall.”

But look at it now! Circle of Knowledge in Sunset Hills Plaza is where the Little Wishes “shopping day” takes place, Dec. 2. Five On Your Side’s sponsorship of the program is a result of KSDK’s partnership with the Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition. Their affiliation began in 2002 with the placement program known as A Place to Call Home.

Twenty-one years later all involved are proud to say they’ve found forever families for more than 500 children!

“We are proud to have a partnership in this endeavor,” said KSDK President and General Manager Alicia Fronckiewicz Elsner. “It’s important for the community and gratifying to know 5 On Your Side has played a significant role.”

Little Wishes was created to make sure children impacted by foster care have a gift to open during the holiday season. Every year, more than 4,000 local children select their wish from a catalog sent to them by the Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition.

Saturday at Circle of Knowledge donors can satisfy some of those little wishes.

Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition Family Enrichment and Volunteer Manager Madison Brown described what will happen.

“Donors will pick a kid’s personalized ornament off of the Christmas tree,” she said, “That will indicate the child’s wish. Then the donors will be able to pick the present right off of the shelf, purchase it, and it will be wrapped and shipped to the child.”

The Little Wishes shopping day will take place from 8-9:30 a.m. The address of Circle of Knowledge is 10980 Sunset Hills Plaza, Sunset Hills, MO 63127.
