Fox Theatre cancels 'Hamilton' performance after animal causes power outage

Hamilton fans were out of luck Thursday night after a power outage at the Fabulous Fox.

ST. LOUIS — The show did not go on at the Fabulous Fox Theatre Thursday night for fans of the hit musical "Hamilton."

Thursday night's performance was canceled after a power outage at the theatre.

The Fox posted on Facebook that crews from Ameren were on site and had the power restored around 8:55 p.m.

An Ameren Missouri spokesperson told 5 On Your Side that a small animal got into some electrical equipment and shorted a fuse. It's not clear what kind of animal it was.

The Fox said that ticket holders for Thursday's performance of "Hamilton" will be able to exchange those tickets for another performance of the play's run at the Fox. "Hamilton" is set to run through May 15 in St. Louis.

The Fox said all ticket holders will be notified by email to accommodate exchanges or refunds.
