Teen thought he was going to purchase car, ends up getting robbed at gunpoint in LaSalle Park neighborhood

ST. LOUIS – An investigation is underway after a 16-year-old was robbed when he went to meet someone to buy a car in St. Louis’ LaSalle Park neighborhood.

Police responded to the 1000 block of Morrison Avenue when the teen said he went to meet a man to buy a car around 5:35 p.m. Friday.

Once the teen was in the car, the man he was going to buy the car from started driving and talking about the purchase. The two ended up in an alley and the man got out a gun and robbed the teen of his money, jewelry and backpack.

After the robbery, the teen ran from the car. He was not injured.
