Judge Robin Ransom to keynote Kirkwood MLK Celebration

ST. LOUIS — Missouri Supreme Court Justice Robin Ransom, the first Black woman appointed to the state’s highest court, will deliver the keynote address during a commemoration of the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The "Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr." is at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, in the Keating Center on the campus of Kirkwood High School, 801 W. Essex, and will include performances by the Community Gospel Choir of St. Louis and KHS students displaying their dedication to social justice.

Before and after the program, Social Justice Groups will serve light refreshments and an information table will offer valuable insights and resources.

“Dr. King Jr. fought for the rights and dignity of all people, and because of that, his legacy inspires us to continue working for a more just world. Honoring him helps us create a better future,” said Harriet.

The Meacham Park Neighborhood Improvement Association is a 501(c)-3 Public Charity whose mission is to help improve the quality of life in Historic Meacham Park, a southeastern neighborhood of Kirkwood. The Association seeks to build community by providing a forum for sharing information, connecting neighbors, promoting activities, and fostering civic involvement in a diverse community.
