Mama Campisi's episode of 'Restaurant: Impossible' airs tomorrow

A St. Louis favorite will be featured Wednesday night in the Season 7 premiere of "Restaurant: Impossible" on the Food Network.

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A St. Louis favorite will be featured Wednesday night in the Season 7 premiere of "Restaurant: Impossible" on the Food Network.

Mama Campisi's on The Hill wasshut down by host Robert Irvine for two days in June. The décor and the menu was completely revamped on a $10,000 budget

The restaurant, which claims to be the birthplace of toasted ravioli, has improved its menu, including overhauling that St. Louis favorite.

"My understanding is it's all freshly made now, in-house, and that's different than what they had before. I've tasted it, and I've had the ones before. The new ones are much better," said Hill resident Phil Christofanelli of the restaurant's toasted ravioli. "They're serving rabbit as well, which I thought was pretty neat."

Two hundred people packed the restaurant on the night of its re-opening. The most popular item on the menu that evening was the rabbit, a traditional Italian dish.

"Restaurant: Impossible" airs at 9 p.m. CDT.
