The Missouri Attorney general has opened an investigation into the veterans charity founded by the governor.
We've confirmed Attorney General Josh Hawley is looking into the charitable activities of The Mission Continues.
It follows a story today by the Associated Press that Gov.Greitens used a "Mission Continues" email address to arrange political meetings.
Hawley's office confirmed the investigation late this afternoon. We've reached out to the governor and are waiting to hear back.
A spokeswoman for The Mission Continues sent us the following comment:
“She is not aware of any inquiry from the Missouri Attorney General’s office and has not been contacted by the office. But if they are contacted, they will cooperate.”
