St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - They are the hosting duo more than 100,000 St. Louis households tune in to see nightly. Pat Sajak with his quick wit, Vanna White with her constantly changing wardrobe.

"Never. Repeat, I never wear the same dress twice," White says.

The focus is almost always Vanna's wardrobe, but Pat has a closet full of suits as well.

"I have no idea, probably about 40 that we use currently," explains Kathi Nishimoto in wardrobe.

And those suits the costume department actually owns unlike Vanna's which go back to the designer. You see, a peek behind the curtain of wheel of fortune shows you what a well-oiled machine this has become.

"Before each show they give me a card with contestant information on it so I can say hello Heidi," Sajak explains.

Then before each round he's given the puzzle.

"That's about it, I'm not exactly learning the 'To Be or Not To Be' soliloquy for this," Sajak points out.

Nope, after 30 years he knows what he's doing and well, America knows him.

"So a lot of people recognize me when I'm out, but it's kind of a familiar recognition. It's not like Brad Pitt just walked into the room oh it's bigger than life, it's Pat I have dinner with him, how are you doing," Sajak explains.

But apparently there is a downside.

"The downside is if you're in the grocery store and someone goes hi Pat, is that my kid's teacher, is that a neighbor or just some guy saying hi Pat you don't know how friendly to be back," Sajak says.

There could be worse things in the world.

"It ain't bad, I've had real jobs and this one is better," Sajak adds.
