LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – An app created by an Arkansas veterinarian to identify mutts has proven to be a big hit. “What's My Mutt?” has been downloaded across the country in 300 cities and counting.

According to creator Dr. Lauren Schluterman, there have been 11,000 downloads since the app was released on February 20.

A few weeks ago, the app jumped to the #1 Paid Lifestyle App in the app store as well as placing 37th in the Top 50 Overall Paid app list. The average rating in the app store is 4+ stars, and most reviewers said the app was “spot on.”

"Every day I hear from more and more users of ‘What's My Mutt?’ who are thrilled to finally discover the breed make up of their mutt! I created the app so there would be an affordable way to determine breed origins, and of course, I am very happy that so many users are very pleased with their results,” said Dr. Schluterman.

Dr. Schluterman has begun working with Friends of the Animal Village, Rock City Rescue, Out of the Woods Animal Rescue, Rescue Road, West Memphis Animal Shelter, and more to use the app to identify dogs up for adoption. You can find out more on the app's Facebook page.

Currently, the app is only available in the iTunes App Store.
