UMSL basketball player trains others through his own business

He is a basketball trainer and has his own company called Endure Hoops, which has 50 clients.

ST. LOUIS — Matt Enright is a sophomore basketball guard at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and leads the team in scoring and assists.

He and the Tritons have done a lot of winning lately, but Matt is also staying busy off the court with his own business helping train other basketball players.

He won a state title at Webster Groves High School, and last year he became a starter on the best team in UMSL's history. His long-range accuracy helped the Tritons get to the Elite Eight.

"Matt is certainly a great ambassador for UMSL and he's great for his family and Webster Groves, I mean, he's been terrific," Head coach Bob Sundvold said.

When Matt is not on the floor at UMSL playing, he is on this floor at Webster Groves teaching.

He is a basketball trainer and has his own company called Endure Hoops, which has 50 clients.

And when he sees them develop:

"It makes it feel like it's all worth it. Especially if they find that success they are looking for," Matt said.

One of his pupils is Webster Groves freshman sensation Scott Atkinson, who already has offers from Mizzou and Illinois.

"I love Matt. He works really hard. I mean, he won a state championship here, and I think Matt knows what it takes to work hard and get to the next level," Atkinson said.

And Matt has a mentor in this business, Drew Hanlon, who trains NBA All-Stars and who also won a state title at Webster Groves as a player.

"Drew has been a great inspiration to me in my training in business," Matt said. "I was very blessed to be able to spend a week with him in LA this summer, just learning from them, just being a fly on the wall. He's helped me out tremendously."
