Here's who will be on the St. Louis Cardinals 2024 coaching staff

St. Louis announced who would be returning and joining the 2024 coaching staff.

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Cardinals announced its finalized Major League coaching staff for the 2024 season.

Oliver Marmol will return for his third season as the Cardinals manager. In his first two seasons, he has a 164-160 record (.506). In 2022, he led the team to a National League Central division title but fell short in the playoffs against the Philadelphia Phillies.

In 2023, St. Louis recorded their first losing season since 2007, finishing with a 71-91 record.

Those returning to the coaching staff in their same roles are:

  • Dusty Blake (Pitching Coach)
  • Turner Ward (Hitting Coach)
  • Brandon Allen (Assistant Hitting Coach)
  • Julio Rangel (Assistant Pitching Coach/Bullpen)
  • Patrick "Packy" Elkins (Game Day Planning Coach)
  •  Stubby Clapp (1st Base)
  • Ron "Pop" Warner (3rd Base)
  • Willie McGee (Coach)
  • Jamie Pogue (Assistant Coach/Bullpen Coach)
  • Kleininger Teran (Bullpen Catcher)

Two new additions to the staff include former Cardinals pitcher Dean Kiekhefer as an assistant pitching coach and Daniel "FC" MacLea as Major League Coordinator of Technology & Systems.

Kiekhefer, 34, was drafted by St. Louis in 2010 and pitched in 26 games for the RedBirds in 2016. He also pitched for the Oakland A's in 2018.

He first joined the Cardinals minor league staff in December 2019 as a pitching coach for State College before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the 2020 minor league season. He served as a pitching coach for Palm Beach in 2021 and as an assistant pitching coordinator for player development in 2022 and 2023.

MacLea has been a member of the organization since 2018. He served as a Performance Specialist from 2018 to 201 and the Technology Integration Coordinator for Player Development in 2022 and 2023.

The Cardinals announced last month that Daniel Descalso will serve on the team's 2024 coaching staff and Joe McEwing will move to a front-office role.
