St. Louis Cardinals-Detroit Tigers game postponed due to forecast of inclement weather

Monday's game was set to be the first of a three-game series between the teams.

DETROIT — The St. Louis Cardinals-Detroit Tigers game on Monday at Comerica Park has been postponed due to the forecast of inclement weather. 

The Tigers announced Monday afternoon the game would be postponed and made up as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday. The first game will begin at 3:40 p.m. and the second game starting about 40 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1. 

Monday's game was set to be the first of a three-game series between the teams. 

St. Louis comes off winning two of three games against the New York Mets. The Cardinals took the first two of the series, but the Mets won the third game on an extra-innings home run. They sit in last place in the National League Central with a 13-15 record.

Detroit also won two out of three of its previous series against the Kansas City Royals. They sit with a 16-12 record, best for third in the American League Central.
