ST. LOUIS — Want to go for a skate on the ice? Nothing better beats the heat than a nice go around the rink — other than maybe being ranked as one of the best hockey cities in the country.
WalletHub recently ranked St. Louis as the seventh-best hockey city in the country, beating out Buffalo, N.Y.; Anaheim, Cali.; and Washington D.C. The home of the Blues was ranked among factors such as performance level, fan engagement, the number of NHL divisional championship wins, and yes, the number of Stanley Cup wins.
The Blues, despite their lack of a Stanley Cup, ranked as the fifth best performing NHL team, behind the Tampa Bay Lightning, Pittsburgh Penguins, Las Vegas Golden Knights and Washington Capitals. The Buffalo Sabres were considered the worst performing team in WalletHub's study.
It should be of notoriety that St. Louis, Buffalo and Washington D.C. were the only cities to not yet win the Stanley Cup Finals.
