ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — One woman was killed in a ripple-effect multi-car crash Friday morning on northbound Interstate 270.

According to an MSHP crash report, the five-car crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. Friday on northbound I-270, south of the I-70 ramp. One person was killed and two others were seriously injured.

Each car was traveling behind the other and headed northbound on I-270 near the I-70 ramp, when one car lost control, spun around and was struck by the second car. The second car then spun around when the third car struck its left side. Then a fourth car struck the third.
