ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. — Five people were transported to area hospitals after two accidents in the same area around the same time in St. Charles County Wednesday morning.
Both accidents happened around 5:10 a.m. on Interstate 70 near Cave Springs Road, a Missouri State Highway Patrol spokesperson said. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, four cars were involved and one of them left the scene.
According to a St. Charles County Ambulance District spokesperson, four people were transported to area hospitals in serious condition and one person was in critical condition when they were transported.
The westbound lanes of I-70 in St. Charles County were closed for about an hour Wednesday morning.
