Is your car ready for winter weather?

Cold, snow and sleet take their toll on vehicles.

The folks at Telle tire have been busy, especially since st Louis got a taste of winter early.

“We defiantly saw an uptick in tire sales because it jumped started the winter season for a lot of St. Louis area,” said Alex Telle.

Cold, snow and sleet take their toll on vehicles.

"We will be happy to check your battery for you if you notice a slow crank before this true cold spell comes in to get it looked at," Telle said.

Under the hood, there’s also a lot of things drivers can do to eliminate frustrations.

“With the washer fluid make sure its full but you also want to make sure its fresh and the proper solution for that, so it doesn’t freeze,” Telle said.

They also recommend checking your coolant level and make sure you have the proper amount of antifreeze. But the number one thing to check off your list is tires.

“So, when it comes to weather, your tires are the first thing you want to start with. Make sure your air pressure is proper, so you can get traction to the road when it snows,” Telle said.

Dealing with the after effect can also be costly.

"After the snow and the snow plows have been on the roads if you catch a pothole you may need to get your alignment check," Telle said.
