ST. LOUIS — Non-essential workers at Scott Air Force Base and students at local schools will be dismissed at different times today.

Scott Air Force Base dismissed non-essential workers on the base at around 10:45.

"Effective immediately Scott Air Force Base is going to a mission essential status due to tornadic/inclement weather forecasted to hit the base at approximately 1 p.m.

"Units should employ a staggered release with consideration given to those who need to pick up children at the CDC, Youth Center and similar facilities. All gates will be open for outbound traffic—this includes the Cardinal Creek gate from now through 12:30. All medical appointments will rescheduled. Entry to base will only be for mission essential personnel or those who live on base."

At around 11:55, Parkway schools said they would be altering their dismissal plan.

"We will delay dismissal if needed due to weather. After-school activities are canceled. Adventure Club is open," the district said.

Wentzville, Lindbergh, Ladue, Festus, Rockwood and Fox C6 have all announced they would be canceling after-school events as well.
