We're still feeling the heat in St. Louis

Heat index temperatures will remain in the dangerously hot 100 to 110 degree range.

An excessive heat warning is in effect until Saturday evening for metro St. Louis.

Scorching temperatures are forecast for the bi-state for two, possibly three, more days. Sunny skies with middle and upper 90-degree temperatures are expected Friday and Saturday afternoon in the region.

This type of heat can rapidly lead to heat exhaustion, especially for the elderly, the very young, and the chronically ill.

On Sunday a cold front will approach St. Louis. Ahead of the front, we remain humid and hot, with lower to middle 90 degree temperatures. Heat index temperatures will again reach 100 degrees.

Our heat wave breaks on Monday, as afternoon temperatures only reach the lower 80s.
