A celebration of LGBTQ+ film and queer culture | Join Cinema St. Louis for the 17th Annual QFest

The annual film festival runs April 26-28 and May 3-5 at the Hi-Pointe Theatre.

ST. LOUIS — This weekend is the kickoff to the 17th Annual Qfest presented by Cinema St. Louis.

The annual event celebrates LGBTQ+ film and queer culture. This year’s festival theme is “LOVE”, and the 26 films from 9 countries express love in all its forms.

On Saturday, April 27th you can catch the film TENS ACROSS THE BOARD from St. Louis Filmmaker, Bobby Best. The documentary dives into the culture of ballroom dance and how black and brown LGBTQ Artists championed it.  I caught up with Best to find out how this screening is unlike any other.

"We want to give the audience who are going to be here that day the actual experience of being in the film. It's going to be cool. We are going to have a couple of performers here, some of the best performers in the Midwest and nationwide. It's a film and it's a party. So, come on out," Best said.

A film and a party is right! The aisles of the Hi-Pointe Theatre are going to transform into a ballroom dance party.

Bobby Best will also be in attendance for a post-film Q&A.
