ST. LOUIS — It looks like a typical day after school for three Visitation Academy seniors. But these ladies are not just taking pics for their next Instagram post. They are working.
"I've always, had random little entrepreneurship jobs, like, I sold slime when I was in, like, grade school," explained Emma Miller, the owner of Style It Out Boutique.
Much like her entrepreneurial spirit, a love for fashion started at a young age. She ran an Instagram account in middle school where she would sell her and her friends used clothes.
"And that was like my full-time job when I was in middle school," she said.
During her freshman year in high school, her father had an idea.
"My dad was like, why don't you open an official business? So yeah, brand new clothes instead of new and used clothes," she said.
And Style It Out was born! Emma describes her inventory as bright and girly. From swimsuits that just launched, to trendy loungewear, there is something for everyone. Emma adds new inventory every few weeks, and she has the perfect built-in focus group.
"I send it (new merchandise options) to all of my friends and I'm like, tell me, which one's your favorite? Keep a little chart. Keep track of like who says what, and then whatever gets the most votes. I'm like, well, clearly that's that's the winner," she said.
Juggling school, sports, and a social life with a fully functional and flourishing business is no small task, but in the words of Michelle Obama, "There is no limit to what we, as women can accomplish."
Emma plans to attend Ole Miss University in the fall, but the dream doesn't stop there.
"I want to do it all through college and then hopefully, owning a store one day would be the end goal," she said.
We have no doubts for Emma, because, for this young woman, there is no limit to what she can accomplish!
