'The Physics Bus' rolls into the City Museum

The traveling science exhibit uses everyday objects to create hands-on experiences that teach physics while you play.

ST. LOUIS — Spending a week learning about physics aboard an old school bus may be the last thing you expect to be excited about, but you guys have to check out this traveling exhibit!

A purple school bus from Ithaca New York is at the City Museum through Sunday. The Physics Bus is a traveling science exhibit that uses recyclables, discarded tech, thrift store appliances, and other everyday objects to create hands-on experiences that teach physics while you play.

I caught up with the brains behind the bus, Erik Herman and Liz Vincent, to learn more.

"We really believe that physics is something you can experience firsthand with your senses. We deliver on that. We let science speak for itself," Herman said.

From a door knob powering an old computer speaker to weirdly wonderful optical illusions, you will have a blast playing and learning on The Physics Bus!

The Physics Bus team will be on-site for demonstrations, from April 24 – 26 with 30-minute presentations at noon and 2:00 pm on the 4th Floor of the City Museum. The Physics Bus will also be parked at the City Museum on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm The Physics Bus is Included with general admission or a member pass.
