Or build a career in hospitality and entertainment by job-hunting at a career fair Thursday, March 23.

ST. LOUIS — The weather may be cold and rainy right now, but the warm weather season is right around the corner which means it’s time to start thinking about summer jobs.

SLATE opens a summer youth employment program      

The St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE) announces the opening of a summer youth employment program.

These jobs are open to young people in the City of St. Louis between the ages of 15 and 24.

Positions include utility workers and lifeguards in the City Parks, Recreation, and Forestry division.

Pay starts at $12 dollars for 15-year-olds and goes up for those who are 16 and older.

Hospitality fair set for Thurs., March 23

SLATE is hosting a job fair for those who want a career in hospitality, entertainment, or the culinary field.

It's an in-person event Thursday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to Noon in the first-floor conference room at 1520 Market Street.

Meter parking is available on Market Street. Visitors can also part at Kiel Center Garage, at the corner of Clark and 16th.

Talk with representatives from Butler's Pantry, HMS Host, St. Louis Marriott Grand, LHM, Explore St. Louis, St. Louis Arch, City St. Louis, M&M Custard, Sodexo, SSM, 21C Hotel among others. 

Positions include front desk, concierge, cook, sous chefs, customer service, administrative, HR, retail, cashier, and many others.
