Police car struck during pursuit in St. Louis, 3 in custody

ST. LOUIS — Three people are in custody following a Tuesday afternoon police pursuit in St. Louis

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said officers pursued a white Jeep Compass that was reported stolen in a carjacking shortly before 2:45 p.m. near North 15th Street and Biddle Street. 

During the pursuit, a marked police vehicle was struck by the stolen vehicle in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Lafayette Avenue. Police did not say if any officers were injured.

The pursuit ended in the area of Lillian Avenue and Norwich Place, in the city's Walnut Park West neighborhood. 

Three people were taken into custody, police said. 

St. Louis police did not provide any additional information regarding the pursuit or people taken into custody. 

An investigation is ongoing.
