ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Charges were issued against a woman who is accused of kidnapping another woman and fleeing from police in St. Louis County.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged Helen White, 36, with second-degree kidnapping and resisting arrest by fleeing. She is in custody in Illinois and is being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond.

Court documents said White had pulled the victim by her hair into the car. The victim told White to let her out and attempted to get out of the car, but White began to drive.

An officer observed a female trying to get out of a vehicle shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Picador Drive and Lucas and Hunt Road, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.

The officer initiated a traffic stop but White sped away. The victim tried to escape the car multiple times while the car was speeding, but White pulled her back in, the probable cause statement said.
