JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office oversaw a search for Amanda Jones earlier this year.

A post on Facebook said detectives lead the search took place in May and was focused in an area near the Hillsboro Civic Center. Police dogs identified a few locations where bodies may have been buried, but the search did not uncover any remains.

The post said teams dug by hand around some of the areas before an excavator was brought in to dig deeper.

Amanda Jones was last seen at the civic center in Hillsboro more than 13 years ago. Family members said she was going to meet with Bryan Westfall to discuss the baby Jones was carrying. Westfall is believed to be the father.

The Probsts say Westfall denied the baby was his. He had a long-term girlfriend; a family with Jones wasn’t in the plans.

Jones’ car was found abandoned in the civic center parking lot. Her case was never solved.

Deputies said they will continue to follow every lead in the Amanda Jones case until they can bring closure to the family and community.
