ST. LOUIS — Stan Ponder is a Florissant father of two. He said he experienced tough financial times before, but now, he wants to help people who are having a tough time making ends meet.

He’s taking part in the "Love Thy Neighbor Challenge". It is a Twitter challenge that encourages people to help federal employees who aren't getting paid.

He wants to buy groceries for three federal workers who are not getting paid right now because of the government shutdown. 5 On Your Side put Stan in touch with Donna Rogers.

Rodgers is a mother of two who has been furloughed since Dec. 22. She said she hasn’t been paid in 3 weeks. She was very grateful that Stan bought her groceries at Fields Foods Thursday.

He still wants to help out two other people. Send our newsroom an email at newstips@ksdk.com if you would like to get in touch with him.
