ST. LOUIS — Wednesday is World Refugee Day around the world, and St. Louis is joining on the effort to help recognize their plight and contributions.

The International Institute of St. Louis will begin the day at 8 a.m. with a feature presentation of the latest facts and figures regarding refugees around the globe, which will also include refugee stories and interactive experiences.

Later that day, the Institute will host #WalkWithRefugees, a coalition with the United Nations of St. Louis. Anyone interested in participating in the march should meet at the Institute's parking lot, located at 3401 Arsenal Street, beginning at 4:15 p.m. Those who march are asked to wear United Nations blue and to bring a sign to carry that supports refugees.

The walk will continue down South Grand in south St. Louis and end at Rooster restaurant at 3105 South Grand Avenue. There, the restaurant will host a special dining fundraiser to benefit the Institute.
