ST. LOUIS – Police are investigating after a woman was shot in south St. Louis Thursday morning.
The shooting occurred in the 3700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue around 11:15 a.m. According to police, the woman was found suffering from gunshot wounds to her hand and buttocks.
Froebel Literacy Academy is in the same block where the shooting occurred, the principal of the schools says it was placed on a lockdown during the incident.
As of 11:45 a.m., students are not allowed in the hallways or outside.
No other details have been provided.
