Sponsored: Riverview Gardens School District is focused on increasing children's academic success

Parent engagement is essential to the education and development of children

ST. LOUIS — This morning on Show Me St. Louis Mary Caltrider sat down with Family Engagement Specialist, Te'Ara Arman of Riverview Gardens School District, and Pash Williams, parent and RGSD Parent Ambassador, to discuss the benefits of parent engagement in children's academic lives. Riverview Gardens School District's Office of Family Engagement offers a plethora of resources, events and support for parents and families in the district. This includes Parent University workshops, Zumba classes, trivia nights, Parent Advisory Council meetings, and countless more resources.

Research shows that parents can increase their child’s academic success by being involved in their child’s school and community. When parents engage with their child, we see improvements in student morale, attitude, motivation, and grades. Families play a huge role in their child’s success. Supporting their learning, encouraging resilience, acting as models for lifelong learning, and advocating for the best placement for their child are all ways that families improve and support student achievement.

Riverview Gardens School District is located at 1370 Northumberland Drive, St. Louis, MO 63137. You can follow RGSD on socials @facebook.com/RGSDSchools and @instagram.com/rgsdschools/
