UFL championship game to be held in St. Louis

The championship game for the new United Football League could be a home game for the St. Louis Battlehawks. The game is scheduled for June 16.

ST. LOUIS — The United Football League will crown its first champion in St. Louis.

The newly formed league, which includes the St. Louis Battlehawks, will play its 2024 championship game in June at The Dome at America’s Center in downtown St. Louis, a league spokesman confirmed Thursday morning. The UFL this spring is playing its first season after the merger of the XFL and the USFL, two upstart spring football leagues that sought to provide professional football competition in the National Football League’s offseason. The UFL is holding an 11:30 a.m. press conference Thursday at The Dome to formally announce its plan to host its first championship game in St. Louis.

The UFL's plans to host its inaugural championship game in St. Louis has been long rumored, with news reports indicating the possibility shortly after the UFL’s launch at the start of 2024. The UFL begins its season later this month.
