St. Louis CITY SC opens MLS regular season with draw vs. Real Salt Lake

St. Louis will head to Houston on Feb. 27 to play the Houston Dynamo in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis CITY SC kicked off its second Major League Soccer season Saturday night at CityPark. 

CITY SC opened up regular season play against Real Salt Lake with a 1-1 draw. 

RSL scored in the 74th minute. Sam Adeniran quickly leveled the match in the 79th minute.

St. Louis will head to Houston on Feb. 27 to play the Houston Dynamo in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. The team will return to MLS regular season action against New York City FC on March 2.

CITY SC made its Champions Cup debut Tuesday night against the Dynamo in the first leg. The tournament is separate from the MLS. 

St. Louis scored the first goal of the match, with Houston later leveling the score 1-1. 

In his CITY SC debut, Hosei Kijima scored the winning goal in the 90th minute to make it 2-1.
