Steve’s Hot Dogs is hiring

Steve's Hot Dogs is looking for part-time workers for summer events and festivals on evenings and weekends.
Pay is $17 to $20 an hour including tips.

911 dispatchers, refuse workers needed

The City of St. Louis is looking for 911 dispatchers.

The job involves receiving and evaluating telephone calls in the police division's 911 call center, dispatching police units, redirecting calls to EMS dispatch, fire equipment dispatch or other agencies, and performing REJIS (Regional Justice Information System) and MULES (Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System) searches for missing and wanted/warrant vehicle and person records.

Pay starts at about $20 an hour with benefits.

City of St. Louis Parks, Recreation and Forestry job fair brings good-paying jobs to residents

The city's Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department is gearing up for warmer weather through a series of job fairs.

The next one will be Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Cherokee Rec Center, 3200 S. Jefferson, from 11 am to 2 pm.

This is an in-person event.

The department is looking for lifeguards, full-time and seasonal utility workers, recreation assistants, and tree trimmers.

City residency is not required for seasonal jobs.

All positions with the City start at $15/hour with competitive benefits.

UnitedHealthcare hosts virtual job fair Thursday

UnitedHealthcare needs to fill more than 100 full-time sales and healthcare delivery openings in the St. Louis area.

It’s planning a virtual job fair Thursday, May 5 from Noon to 3 p.m.

Interested candidates are encouraged to visit this link to learn more about the openings before the job fair.

Then on Thursday, be prepared for live, virtual chats with recruiters where you can ask questions about the position, the company and the recruitment process, as well as apply.

St. Louis Community College and Ranken open enrollment job training courses, summer classes

St. Louis Community College is currently enrolling for non-credit job training courses that start this month.

These classes offer fast-track, concentrated opportunities to enter in-demand jobs quickly - in three to 28 weeks, depending on the selected program.

Ranken Technical College's summer semester starts on May 9, 2022, for online and evening classes, and on June 1, 2022, for day classes.

Ranken offers hands-on skill training and technical education in the Automotive, Construction, Electrical, Information Technology, and Manufacturing fields.

Most Ranken and STLCC students receive financial aid and scholarships to help cover tuition, books, and tools.

Financial assistance through SLATE

SLATE Missouri Job Center partners with STLCC and Ranken to offer scholarships to students for career development and training programs they need to succeed in the real world.

To receive financial assistance through SLATE, students must be residents of St. Louis City.

SLATE will also provide eligible participants access to various no-cost resources to ensure job readiness, including workshops on résumé writing and interview skills, skills assessments, and individualized career guidance.

City of St. Louis, Metro Transit, offering free passes to 3,000 eligible city youth

The St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE) is accepting applications for the Gateway Go Youth Transit program.

Funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), the program offers free transit for 3,000 city youth ages 13-25 through the rest of 2022.

Previously, passes were only valid through the summer months.

If you're interested, you'll need to pre-register here.

After registering, SLATE will follow up with individuals to schedule times to visit the SLATE offices at 1520 Market Street to apply.

If eligible, applicants will receive their transit passes on the spot during their visit.

Those under 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Applicants must present proof of age, proof of residence, as well as proof of income or reside in a Qualified Census Tract (QCT).
