Café Ventana unexpectedly closes to 'regroup'

ST. LOUIS — A popular restaurant in St. Louis’ Central West End neighborhood announce it is closed until further notice.

Café Ventana announced on Facebook it will be closed until further notice to regroup.

The French Quarter-style bistro is known for its New Orleans fare with coffeehouse seating, local art and live music.

On Sept. 30, Café Ventana shared the following message to its Facebook,

‘We are very sorry to notify you that Cafe Ventana will be closed until further notice to regroup. It was an incredible pleasure serving and hanging out with all our valued friends. We hope to be open again soon to invite you all back for great food, coffee, and conversation!’

Many customers posted on the Facebook message, hoping the restaurant will be back open soon.

‘Very sad to hear you are closing but hopeful that it will be for just a little while. We love your food, coffee and atmosphere,’ Cheri Mann said.

‘Noooo. Please reopen soon. We had beignets here local and are so spoiled by yours, which are so much better,’ Andy Lobonc.

‘I'll miss you! Best beignets around please hurry back,’ Mari Lee said.
