Burst pipe prompts emergency response at Cahokia High School

Despite the unexpected start to the day, classes will continue on as planned Monday

CAHOKIA, Ill. — School will continue as scheduled Monday at Cahokia High School even after a pipe broke in the cafeteria.

At least eight emergency vehicles responded to the school Monday morning, including several fire trucks. It was all for a pipe that burst in the Minch n Mingle cafeteria, school officials confirmed.

The situation is under control and the fire department has left the school. School officials added that the heat is working throughout the building.

‘We would like to see our scholars on time at 8:30,’ Principal Valeska Hill wrote on the school’s Facebook page.
